Common Symptoms
- Black screen
- Fuzzy lines
- Distorted or zoomed-in picture
- No image when switching to CarPlay/Android Auto
Step 1 – Power Cycle for Toggle Switch Changes
- Always disconnect the CAN Power Cable for 10 seconds before changing toggle switches.
- After adjusting, reconnect and retest.
- If switches are changed with power still connected, the display will not work.
Step 2 – Toggle Switch Settings

Additional Toggles (all SKUs):
- Toggle 8 → Down if using an external microphone.
- Toggle 7 → Down if the car has no parking sensors.
Step 3 – LVDS & Wiring Check
⚠️ Do not connect directly to, or unplug, the factory display.
All connections must be made at the head unit using the LVDS splitter.
- Disconnect the car’s LVDS cable from the back of the head unit.
- Plug the LVDS into the female port of the splitter.
- Plug the splitter’s male end back into the head unit.
- Plug the blue LVDS lead from the splitter into the retrofit box.
- Ensure CAN Power Cable and quadlock are fully seated.
- If “dry-fitting”, reconnect the climate control panel and other removed plugs.
Step 4 – Basic Function Test
- Check that “EW-CarPlayxxxxx” appears in your phone’s Bluetooth list.
- Connect your phone with the supplied USB cable → confirm charging.
Step 5 – If Still No Display
- Double-check toggle switch positions match your vehicle.
- Confirm LVDS splitter is fitted at the head unit (not the screen).
- Re-seat all connections firmly.
