Bluetooth & WiFi Connection Problems (CarPlay / Android Auto)

If your phone won’t connect to CarPlay/Android Auto, drops the connection, or shows a black screen, follow these steps:

Black Screen / Disconnect Issues
1. WiFi Antenna Placement
• Place the WiFi antenna close to the phone.
• Do not mount it behind metal surfaces (causes interference).
2. Change WiFi Channel
• Go to Settings → WiFi → WiFi Channel.
• Try channels 36, 149, or 6 (reboot required).
3. Restart the System
• Hold the BACK button on the iDrive controller for 5 seconds.
4. Reset Bluetooth on MMI Box
• Go to Settings → Bluetooth → Reset.
5. Restart iPhone / Android Phone
• Fully power off, wait 10 seconds, then restart.
6. Reset Network Settings on Phone
• On iPhone: Settings → General → Reset → Reset Network Settings.
• On Android: Settings → System → Reset Options → Reset WiFi, Mobile & Bluetooth.
7. Re-Pair CarPlay / Android Auto
• Forget previous connections.
• Pair Bluetooth first, then WiFi.
