1️⃣ Camera Type Selection (Most Important Setting)
Go to:
Settings → Car Setting → Reversing Settings → Camera Type
| Option | When To Use | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Not Installed | No camera + no parking sensors | Screen will stay on CarPlay/Android Auto when reversing |
| Original Camera | Car has factory BMW reverse camera / PDC sensors | Retains OEM graphics + sensor overlay |
| Aftermarket Camera | You’ve installed a new RCA camera to the screen | Enables camera feed via RCA cable |
✅ If set incorrectly → camera will not appear or will show black screen
2️⃣ OEM Parking Sensors (BMW Factory PDC)
✅ These are supported automatically if the car has them from factory
✅ If you select Original Camera, the system will show OEM graphics
⚠ If sensors don’t appear, check:
- Camera Type = Original Camera
- LVDS cable is correctly connected
- Reverse trigger wire is supplying 12V when in reverse
3️⃣ Aftermarket Camera Setup
If you have installed a new reverse camera (RCA input), set:
Camera Type → Aftermarket Camera
Required wiring:

4️⃣ Parking Line & Radar Settings
Go to:
Settings → Car Setting → Reversing Settings

| Parking Line | Shows guide lines on screen | ON for aftermarket camera |
| Radar | Shows radar sensor overlay (if supported) | OFF unless camera provides radar |
| Reverse Camera Mirror | Flips image left/right | ON if image looks backward |
| Original Camera Exit Delay Time | Keeps camera on after leaving reverse | 0–3 sec (optional) |
| Front-View Time | Shows front cam after reverse | Only used if front cam installed |
⚠ If your aftermarket camera already has guide lines, leave Parking Line = OFF to avoid double overlay.
5️⃣ If Camera Image Is Upside-Down, Mirrored or Cropped
| Issue | Fix |

| Image reversed left/right | Set Reverse Camera Mirror = ON |
| Image upside-down | Your camera has a physical “flip” loop wire – cut or connect depending on model |
| Black bars / zoomed | Screen resolution mismatch → See “Screen Resolution Fix” article |
| No image at all | Wrong Camera Type / no trigger voltage / loose RCA |
6️⃣ Common Faults & Fixes
| Symptom | Likely Cause | Fix |

| Black screen when reversing | Camera Type wrong / no trigger feed | Set correct type, check 12V reverse wire |
| Camera shows but no sensors | Must be set to Original Camera | Change Camera Type |
| Sensors show but no camera | Car has no OEM camera | Change to Aftermarket Camera or install one |
| Only static image / frozen | RCA plug loose or powered from CAN instead of reverse light | Test camera on 12V supply |
| Blue screen / No signal | RCA not plugged / broken video cable | Re-seat plugs both ends |
7️⃣ Front Camera Support (Optional)
If you have a front camera installed:
➡️ Set Front-View Time = 1–3 seconds
Screen will auto-show front view after reversing, ideal for parking near kerbs.
